IEEE PPFIC Guest Program June 19-21, 2017

In order to make the most out of your visit and also have a chance to get together with riends who perhaps you haven’t seen since last year’s conference, we have organized a fantastic Guest Program for the conference this year.

All registrants for the Guest Tour, are welcome to join us for:

* The Sunday evening welcome reception – 6:00pm – 8:00pm
* Buffet breakfasts – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – 7:00am – 8:30am
* The Wednesday awards luncheon – Noon – 2pm

MONDAY – June 19th

 WATER FALLS!!!

Travel north to the foothills of the Cascades known as the Issaquah Alps to Snoqualmie Falls where you will enjoy one of Washington States most popular scenic attractions. From a view point near Salish Lodge, that you will recognize from the TV show Twin Peaks, gaze out onto the spectacular beauty of the falls. Visit the hotel’s gift shop to browse the locally made wares or trek down into the canyon to stand on the rocks right near the base of the 298 foot waterfall.

 

CHOCOLATE!!!

Travel west to Issaquah and visit a charming Edelweiss Chalet where Swiss candies and chocolates are handmade just for you at Boehms. Experience the craft of making your very own chocolate along with a tour of this hands-on chocolate making factory.  Take home 1/4 of a pound of chocolate that you can say “I made it myself!”

Then off to a unique shopping village in the town of Issaquah with its wooden board walks and one-of-a-kind boutique shops and eateries placed in a park-like center of vintage, historic buildings.  Relax, shop, eat and enjoy.

TUESDAY– June 20th

 Join us for a land and water tour of Seattle on an amphibious (duck) motor vehicle.  Start at the downtown Westlake Center, tour Lake Union with a gorgeous view of Seattle’s skyline, the Sleepless in Seattle floating home and the seaplanes coming and going.  Then on to a view of Seattle Center, downtown shopping, Seattle’s fun and scenic waterfront and historic Pioneer Square.  Ending at Pike Place Market for an incredible lunch and multi-sensory shopping and eating experience. Pike Place Market is an iconic Seattle gem full of everything Northwest from produce to flying fish you can ship home to crafts by local artisans at 200 plus vendors.

WEDNESDAY– June 21st – Morning

 HOTEL MURANO GLASS

Following the morning breakfast gather together for a refreshing beverage and tour of the hotels 200 museum quality glass artifacts. The Hotel Murano offers the unique experience of a museum worthy collection of glass art from around the globe, adorned throughout the lobby and guest room tower. Let our docent be your guide through our collection, sharing interesting facts and personal stories that truly bring the art to life.

 

DIY Tour – for those Do-It-Yourselfer’s

  • Back by popular demand, this year we are once again providing an opportunity for you to DIY, but still be a part of the conference
    The DYI tour includes:
    * The Sunday evening welcome reception – 6:00pm – 8:00pm
    * Buffet breakfasts – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – 7:00am – 8:30am
    * The Wednesday awards luncheon – Noon – 2pm
    * DIY tour fee of $125 for IEEE Member and Non-Member
